Patina

In the case of restoration in which the vehicle is supposed to show some signs of wear and tear, the vehicle has to be in compliance with the original condition of upholstery, metal surface treatment and especially varnish. Therefore, the newly made parts are covered with patina. You can see such an example of BENZ car in the Technical Museum in Prague. The original seats were renovated combining the remaining original and new parts of upholstery and intentionally slightly worn-out varnish.

In some cases, a whole new project which is built from a few fragments of the remaining vehicle is suitable for patina covering. Creating deep corrosion, worn-out brass and cracked and torn varnish can make an impression that the whole vehicle is original.
